Seriously these are the most quick drying cream eyeshadows I’ve tried so don’t apply product on both eyes at once because you’ll end up with one eye that you can’t blend out. What I did is applied product all over the lid and blended with a brush and then worked on the other eye. The cream eyeshadow dries super fast so you have to be quick with blending. The formula of the five shades that I tested out is pigmented and has an in between consistency, meaning they’re creamy but not as creamy as per example the Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks. The shades that I got are in:īleached Out Beige (dirty metallic with gold pearl) I got five shades from the line all in the sparkly frost finish and most of them pretty neutral and wearable. The formula is waterproof as the name applies and promises up to 24h wear. The line has 21 shades and two different finishes in creamy rich matte and sparkling frost. You can use the jumbo pencil as a liner, all over wash of color or as an eyeshadow base for your powder eyeshadow.
MAC EYESHADOW HIGHLIGHTER FULL
The MAC Pro Longwear Waterproof Colour Sticks are described as long wearing cream eyeshadows that deliver medium to full coverage in one swipe. I would compare the MAC Prep+Prime Highlighters to the YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touch which is almost double the price so if you’ve always wanted to try that product this one is a great substitute. Swatches L to R: MAC Prep+Prime Highlighter in Light, MAC Prep+Prime Highlighter in Medium
MAC EYESHADOW HIGHLIGHTER SKIN
The Medium shade has yellowy beige undertones and it’s also great for brightening if you have medium skin tone, but I also use it in the inner corners of my eyes where I have darkness just to correct and conceal. The formula is light and blends really nicely on to the skin so the product is great for layering over your concealer or corrector. The Light shade is great for under eye brightening and if you’re looking to add a subtle highlight on the high points of your face.
MAC EYESHADOW HIGHLIGHTER PLUS
The other three shades from the line are Medium Plus (tan beige), Dark (deep caramel) and Dark Deep (rich golden bronze).īoth the Light and Medium shade work for my light to medium skin tone, I just use them for different purposes. I got two shades that I tested out in Light, described as pale ivory and Medium, described as warm beige. They don’t have any shimmer in them so they’re not your classic highlighters, instead they have soft focus optical particles which illuminate the skin in a subtle way. They’re packaged in a click pen which makes it for a very easy application and precise highlighting. If you’re not familiar with the product, the Prep+Prime Highlighters are designed to add precise radiance to the skin. I haven’t tried any of the old shades of the Prep+Prime Highlighters so I was excited to try the new shades since I’ve heard great things about them and I’m all about cream eyeshadows so of course I was stoked about MAC’s new release.įirst let’s talk about the Prep+Prime Highlighters, they released five new skin tone shades ranging from light to dark deep. Two new products launched last week on, the Pro Longwear Waterproof Colour Sticks and five new shades from the Prep+Prime Highlighters that will be part of their permanent line.
